steady-state training such as brisk walking or jogging to interval and PHA
(peripheral heart action) training for more advanced clients, the long-term benefits to heart and lung
health are invaluable. Creativity and your enjoyment are crucial to programme
design, far removed from the CV fitness norms of monotony and repetition.
Monitoring
intensity is crucial for assessing and making progress in your CV health,
your trainer will use a variety of scientific methods to measure your
progress including heart-rate monitoring, and CV fitness testing at specified
intervals. We’ll spend most of our time designing a programme that’s
appropriate for you, in mode, frequency, duration and intensity and then
monitoring and adapting it regularly to achieve gradual progression in your
fitness. Often we’ll leave you to do your weekly CV activity yourself, as
once it’s planned, the hard work’s up to you, hence saving you money on
session time with your trainer.
