sports massage therapy - what to expect

Step 1 An
initial consultation and in-depth postural / musculo-skeletal analysis: Included as
standard in the physical analysis part of every Wellness Analysis,
this identifies potential treatment areas of muscle tension, tightness, pain
or imbalance. You will be asked to perform simple mobility and functional
tests to determine the origin and cause of any problems. Your trainer will
record the results and the assessment will last for around one hour. |

Step 2 Treatment - sports
massage therapy: Choose from
relaxation, injury-specific or pre and post-exercise sports massage. We bring
everything you need to your chosen location, including massage couch, oil and
towels. Treatments last for one hour and a comprehensive set of notes are
written-up each session by your therapist. |

Step 3 Your post-care
wellness advice: Following each
treatment, your therapist will formulate a plan of post-care treatment and
advice unique to you, for example, specific self-stretches and home exercises
that can be used to bridge-the-gap between further treatment. You may also be
advised on factors relevant to your lifestyle and occupation, for example,
posture at work and the ergonomics of your home or office furniture. |

Step 4 Further treatment
sessions and analysis: Continued
treatment and further analysis at 5 week intervals will help maintain and
improve function and wellbeing in both healthy and injured clients. |
